A mirror of this size is no longer an accessory, it is a piece of furniture. At roughly 122 cm wide it fills a wall without crowding it, and gives back the light of the room in return. That is the oldest trick in interior design: a large mirror opposite a window doubles the brightness and makes narrow rooms feel wider.

The high gloss black lacquered frame takes the shyness out of baroque. Where gold warms, black sets a clear contrast, and the elaborate corner ornaments and rocailles stand out sculpturally through the gloss instead of blurring.
